These old vines work hard for us.

Alluca Vineyards is situated in Blewitt Springs, a sub region of McLaren Vale, in Kaurna Country, South Australia.

Home to some of the oldest vines in the region, Blewitt Springs boasts a Mediterranean climate of warm summers, moderate winters and low humidity. Being close to the coast, we also benefit from the cooling winds that blow in from the Gulf St Vincent.

Our cabernet franc vineyard was planted over fifty years ago, and the shiraz over twenty five. With careful vineyard management these old vines produce low yields and fruit intense with delicate varietal flavours.

Blewitt Springs also enjoys the highest elevation and rainfall of the Vale and while our hard-working vines were historically dry-grown, they now enjoy a well-earned but carefully managed watering when the temperatures peak in summer.

The unique climate and soil structure of the area sees the development of highly sought after characteristics in the fruit, translating into delicate varietal and regional expression in the wines.

Our intent is to produce wines that capture the natural flavours of the variety and express their distinctive regional characters.

Our little patch is also home to pockets of native bush and scrub, a winter creek, abundant native bird and wild life, rambling gardens, fruit trees, chooks and a thriving greenhouse providing us with fresh garden harvest year round.

Please note that our Villa is open for bookings from April 13th 2023, for your luxury stay in the McLaren Vale Region .
